I’m Louisa Kiwana Olafuyi, a Ugandan-British entrepreneur, producer, and media executive building a new era of culturally grounded children's media for a global audience.

I’m the Co-founder and COO of Kunda Kids, creator of award-winning animated preschool series Kunda and Friends and Thandi's Playtime, reaching millions of families worldwide through animation, music, publishing, and digital media.

Before founding Kunda Kids, I held senior marketing and innovation roles at Unilever, Cambridge University Press, the BBC, Diageo, and WPP, bringing two decades of strategy, storytelling, and commercial leadership across four continents.

July Update

During July, Louisa joined industry leaders at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the world's leading event for animation, to speak on the Strategies for African IPs panel.

The discussion explored one of the industry's most important questions: how African creators can build globally successful intellectual property while retaining ownership, creative control and long-term value.

Alongside fellow panellists, Louisa shared Kunda Kids' approach to audience-first growth, independent distribution and building sustainable children's media brands without relying on traditional gatekeepers.

The conversation challenged conventional thinking around equity, distribution and ownership, arguing that the strongest media businesses of the future will be those that build communities before platforms, and relationships before reach.
